Privacy Policy

Effective August 15, 2026

Display Kit is designed to collect as little information about its users as possible.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Display Kit website, applications, and related services.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Display Kit does not require user accounts or registration.

We do not use advertising or analytics services to track users, and we do not build profiles of our users or sell personal information.

Display Kit does not use your activity to serve targeted advertising.

2. Webpage and Application Settings

Display Kit allows you to configure a webpage and other settings that your television or streaming device will use.

Settings may be entered directly on the television or remotely using another device, such as a phone, tablet, or computer.

When you use Display Kit's remote control functionality, our servers act as a relay between your devices. Information necessary to perform the requested action, such as a webpage URL or application setting, is transmitted through Display Kit's servers so it can be delivered to the television or streaming device you are controlling.

Display Kit does not use this information for advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, or user profiling.

Information necessary to establish and maintain the connection between your devices, such as pairing identifiers or connection information, may also be processed as necessary to provide the remote control functionality.

The application generates device-specific identifiers used to maintain its screen identity and reconnect it to the relay. These identifiers change when you perform the application's factory-reset gesture.

If you request a device-information snapshot from a paired controller, current technical details such as the device model, operating-system version, uptime, connection status, memory and storage usage, CPU frequency, thermal-throttling status, and thermal headroom may be transmitted through Display Kit's servers to that controller. Display Kit does not request these snapshots automatically or use them for advertising or profiling.

Settings may also be stored locally on your television or streaming device so that Display Kit can remember your configuration and automatically display the selected webpage.

3. Websites You Choose to Display

When Display Kit loads a webpage that you select, your television or streaming device communicates with that website and any third-party services used by that website.

Those websites may collect information, use cookies, perform analytics, display advertising, or use other tracking technologies according to their own privacy practices.

Display Kit does not control the privacy practices of webpages you choose to display. You should review the privacy policy of any website you configure Display Kit to load.

The fact that a URL passes through Display Kit's servers when using the remote control feature does not make Display Kit responsible for the content or privacy practices of that website.

4. Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect portions of our website from spam, automated submissions, bots, and other abusive activity.

Turnstile may process technical information about your browser or device as necessary to determine whether a request appears to come from a human user rather than an automated system.

Cloudflare describes the information processed by Turnstile and how that information is used in its Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Display Kit uses Turnstile for security purposes, not for advertising, behavioral tracking, or building user profiles.

5. Technical Information

Like most internet services, infrastructure providers used to deliver and protect the Display Kit website may automatically process limited technical information associated with requests to the Service.

This can include information such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and network or security information.

This information may be processed as necessary to deliver the website, prevent abuse, diagnose technical problems, and maintain security. Display Kit does not use this technical information for behavioral advertising or user profiling.

6. Information You Send Us

If you choose to contact us, submit a support request, or send us information through a contact form, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, message, and other information you include.

We use this information only as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, communicate with you, or address issues you report.

Third-party services used to provide contact forms or communications may process this information on our behalf and may have their own privacy policies.

7. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We may provide limited information to service providers when necessary to operate, secure, or support Display Kit.

We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a lawful request, protect the security of the Service, or protect the rights and safety of Display Kit, our users, or others.

8. Data Retention

Because Display Kit does not maintain user accounts or behavioral profiles, we retain very little user-related information.

Information you voluntarily send us may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

Technical and security information processed by our infrastructure providers may be retained according to those providers' operational and security practices.

9. Children's Privacy

Display Kit is a general-purpose utility and is not specifically directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through user accounts, advertising profiles, or behavioral tracking.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may give you rights regarding personal information associated with you.

Because Display Kit intentionally collects very little personal information and does not maintain user accounts, in many cases we may have little or no information with which to identify you.

If you have a privacy-related request, you may contact us using the contact information provided on our website.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Display Kit's functionality or privacy practices change.

When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy.

12. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how Display Kit handles information, please contact us through the contact information provided at displaykit.net.
